Description

The Complementary Vegetation Survey (cVeg) is supplemental to the Permanent Forest Plot Project (PFPP).

Hypotheses/Objectives: The Complementary Vegetation Survey (cVeg) provides a process by which vegetation below breast height (1.37 m) can be sampled using the existing PFPP architecture.

Summary of Methods: Refer to the PFPP materials for the general methods to support this cVeg Protocol.

Expanded project info: This cVeg data file template provides the column headings and sample data (highlighted) for the Understory Community variables. Download this file, replace the existing data with your data, re-save the file “EREN-PFPP-cveg- <site name> – <monthyear>.csv”, and email the files to Jason Kilgore. Be sure to review the data for errors and consistency. Jason will add your data to a Google Sheet and make the document accessible to you.

To assist you in mapping the location for your Subplots and Miniplots for square Plots, feel free to use this Plot Location Map, developed by Jason Kilgore. This Map has really helped relocate Miniplots when the vegetation is thick!

Curriculum: Refer to the PFPP Collaborators Page (curriculum exchange site) for relevant curricular materials.

Other Project Materials: None.

Publications will be linked here when available.
