Initiated: 2015

Project Status: No longer accepting collaborators.

Description

Hypotheses/Objectives: This project was conducted with a subset of EREN members as a pilot study to investigate: (1) a possible positive association between fallen logs and invasive garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) abundance and the consistency of this association across multiple sites, and (2) whether garlic mustard showed a strong association with high levels of soil phosphorus across multiple sites.

Summary of Methods: Survey techniques for plant spatial distributions and soil phosphorus levels were developed but we encountered technical challenges that kept the project from continuing beyond the pilot phase. The pilot data are being summarized for publication.

Expanded project info: None.

Curriculum: No curriculum materials were developed.

Other Project Materials: None.
